Financial Advisor

Sal is President of CORA Capital Advisors, where he leads a team of wealth management professionals and oversees day-to-day operations. With over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, Sal is a trusted advisor to a diverse range of clients.

Since the inception of CORA, Sal has served as President and played a pivotal role in the company’s shift to an SEC registered investment advisor in 2022. This transition was integral in enabling CORA to work with clients in more adaptable and efficient ways, ultimately enhancing the individualized experience for each client.

Clients love Sal for his wealth of experience and down-to-earth approach to tackling financial challenges. He actively engages with clients, rolling up his sleeves to help them understand their goals, needs, and develop strategic plans to achieve their financial targets. Whether it’s Wealth Accumulation, Asset Management, Estate and Retirement Planning, or Business Succession Planning, Sal is deeply committed to guiding his clients through every step of their financial journey. Leveraging CORA’s ensemble practice, he ensures that every aspect of his client’s financial planning is comprehensively covered, embodying a holistic approach to financial management.

In addition to his role at CORA, Sal shares his insights with others as a guest lecturer, TV commentator, and webinar host, staying abreast of the ever-changing financial landscape.

Sal holds a BSBA in Finance from Drexel University and a Masters in Financial Services. He maintains several industry accreditations, including CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC), and Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). He also holds securities registrations and life insurance, health insurance, and annuity licenses in multiple states.

An active community member, Sal formerly served on the Medford Township Zoning Board as Chairman. He is also past president of the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League, the Medford Boys Lacrosse Program, and is a past board member of the New Jersey Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse. When he’s not crunching numbers, you’ll hopefully find Sal SCUBA diving somewhere tropical, taking a nap under a cabana on the Brigantine beach or spending quality time with his wife, Angela, their son, Luca, and their two dogs Guinness and Stella.

Raymond has earned widespread trust and admiration over the past two decades by providing sound financial guidance and tax-planning insights to countless individuals, families, and businesses. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Ray specializes in delivering comprehensive personalized financial strategies, drawing on his extensive knowledge and experience in tax-related matters, particularly in addressing the tax- and estate-planning needs of family-held businesses. His expertise has been instrumental in assisting affluent families in growing and preserving wealth for future generations.

In addition to his role as managing partner at Cora Capital Advisors, LLC, Ray also serves as a Managing Partner at Baratz and Associates, P.A., a firm he co-founded in 1982. His journey in the financial industry began after earning a BS in Accounting from Rutgers University, followed by establishing his career as an associate with Taylor & Taylor, CPAs in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Ray is deeply committed to advancing his industry and is actively involved in professional organizations. He currently serves as President of the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey and is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs Tax Practice and Personal Financial Specialists Sections.

Outside of the office, Ray spends time with his family – his wife Roseanne and their two sons, Nicholas and Christopher.

Justin offers financial guidance tailored to the individual needs of each client, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to financial planning. Collaborating closely with other financial experts on the CORA team, including tax professionals, Justin ensures clients receive comprehensive strategies to optimize their financial well-being.

As the leader of Cora Capital’s investment committee, Justin oversees model portfolio design and asset allocation monitoring, playing a pivotal role in guiding investment strategies for clients.

Justin is passionate about sharing his financial expertise and conducts unique educational seminars for employees, executives of Fortune 500 companies, and clients. Covering a diverse range of topics including investment management, estate and asset protection, family governance, and business succession planning, these seminars provide invaluable insights to attendees.

Before joining CORA, Justin served as a financial advisor and district manager at Ameriprise Financial in Philadelphia, where he successfully managed his personal practice and provided mentorship to new advisors.

Justin holds a BS from Philadelphia University and has pursued additional designations including Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ (CRPC®) from the College for Financial Planning and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification from The American College. Registered with securities series 7 and series 66, Justin also holds insurance licenses for life, disability, health, and long-term care.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys cooking and traveling.

Financial Advisor

Mark boasts over 40 years of invaluable experience in finance and accounting, matched only by his diverse areas of expertise. At Cora, Mark leverages his extensive knowledge in personal financial planning, business valuations (including matrimonial and divorce-related matters), business consulting, retirement planning, tax administration, and New Jersey life insurance. As a qualified expert witness in business valuation and litigation matters, Mark has provided court and mediation testimony in both New Jersey and Colorado.

Mark embarked on his accounting journey after earning a BS in accounting from Drexel University and becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He began his career with Laventhal & Horwath, CPAs in Philadelphia before co-founding Baratz & Associates, P.A., where he remains an active shareholder.

Mark holds several professional designations, including Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SEC Series 6 & 63 exam licenses, Accreditation in Business Valuations (ABV), and Certification in Financial Forensics (CFF). He continues to contribute to the accounting profession through active membership in the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and previously served as president of the Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey.

Outside his professional endeavors, Mark enjoys spending quality time with his wife Marla and their three daughters, Lauren, Rachelle, and Daryl.

Josh’s primary focus is on ensuring client satisfaction by offering comprehensive planning and investment advice tailored to each client’s unique financial goals and aspirations. He prioritizes dedicated customer service to build lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

Josh began his financial services journey as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Philadelphia, where he cultivated his expertise in wealth management. In July 2012, he joined Lane Bridgers Schill as a Senior Financial Advisor, leveraging his knowledge to deliver personalized financial solutions to clients. His dedication and commitment led to his appointment as the VP of Investments and Senior Wealth Advisor at Redwood Wealth Management Group.

In 2015, Josh achieved his Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) designation from the College for Financial Planning, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in retirement planning. Shortly after, he earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, further solidifying his expertise in fiduciary responsibility.

Beyond his professional achievements, Josh was a standout lacrosse player with roots in the Baltimore area, where he attended Loyola Blakefield. He holds a degree in Economics, with a minor in Business, from Washington College in Chestertown, MD.

Outside of work Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.

With over two decades of public accounting expertise, Sean brings a wealth of experience to his role in financial planning services. Specializing in identifying tax-saving opportunities for both individuals and business owners, Sean fosters strong client relationships built on trust and reliability.

Committed to offering comprehensive financial guidance, Sean pursued and attained his Certified Financial Planner™ certification, enabling him to offer tailored solutions that integrate all aspects of his clients’ financial lives. Sean particularly enjoys collaborating with small business owners and individuals to nurture and expand their wealth and enterprises.

Sean is a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Sean has been recognized on Burlington County Times’s “Emerging Leaders” list and has been named Best Accountant/CPA on their “Best of the Best Burlington” list. Additionally, Sean received the accolade of “20 under 40” by South Jersey Biz and was honored as one of the “40 Under 40” by SNJ Business People.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sean is an active member of his community, frequently participating in local charity races. A dedicated athlete, he has completed five marathons, including renowned events such as the New York City and Philadelphia Marathons.

Director of Client Relations

Marjorie Davey brings more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry to her role as Director of Client Relations at CORA Capital Advisors. Her financial services career began in 2003 at Lincoln Financial Advisors, where she provided crucial support to multiple advisors, including CORA’s President, Sal Cocivera. Margie’s extensive experience and dedication to client satisfaction make her an invaluable asset to the CORA team.

In her current role, Margie not only serves our clients directly but also supports our advisors in delivering exceptional service. She plays a vital role in facilitating the coordination of clients’ services, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience for each client.

Margie is a graduate of Camden County College in New Jersey, where she earned an associate degree in Applied Science.

Outside of work, Margie and her husband of 40 years enjoy biking, traveling, and spending time with their four children and seven grandchildren.

Client Support

Barbara began her career in the financial services industry with IDS – Investors Diversified Services, later to become American Express Financial Advisors. Her journey took her across various roles and firms, beginning as a stockbroker with Paine Webber after relocating to Hawaii. Barbara’s expertise and dedication soon led her to join Merrill Lynch, where she served as their designated financial planner and earned her Certified Financial Planner Certificate.

During her tenure at Merrill Lynch, Barbara’s outstanding performance caught the attention of the corporate headquarters in Plainsboro, NJ. She transitioned there and assumed the role of National Marketing Manager before later becoming one of two national training managers for Merrill’s 15,000 financial advisors. Barbara’s final position with Merrill was with the Family Office Group, where she catered to clients with a minimum net worth of $100 million.

Barbara is not only a seasoned financial professional but also an accomplished public speaker in the realm of personal finance. She has been an invited speaker for governors, including Governor Waihee in Hawaii, Governor Pete Wilson in California, Governor Christine Whitman in New Jersey, and Governor Ed Rendell in Pennsylvania. Her insights have been sought after by various publications, including Hawaii Investor and Redbook, and she has appeared as a guest speaker on Financial Independence for Merrill and on Financial Speaking WVED radio in New York.

Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University. Outside of her professional endeavors, Barbara enjoys playing tennis and traveling. She actively volunteers for Meals on Wheels, the Office of the Ombudsman for the Institutionalized Elderly, and The Guardianship Monitoring Program.

Sarah is instrumental in fostering strong client relationships at CORA Capital Advisors. As a client relationship manager, she works closely with clients to ensure their specific needs are understood and addressed, enabling the firm’s advisors to deliver tailored financial strategies. Her proactive communication and focus on client satisfaction are key to CORA’s success in building long-term partnerships.

In her role, Sarah undertakes a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the firm. From coordinating schedules and appointments to managing paperwork and client communications, her contributions are vital for maintaining efficiency and delivering top-notch service to our clients. Sarah aids clients in completing their life insurance paperwork, guaranteeing they have all necessary documentation pertinent to their policy.

Her proactive mindset and keen eye for detail render her an indispensable asset to our team. With her adept multitasking skills and effective prioritization, Sarah ensures that advisors, directors, and managers receive the necessary support to concentrate on delivering optimal financial solutions to our clients.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and two wild dogs. She also spends her free time running her own furniture restoration business. An avid traveler, Sarah loves exploring new destinations and visiting Disney as often as possible.

Cara plays a pivotal role at CORA, providing invaluable support to the firm’s advisors, directors, and managers. Her dedication and attention to detail contribute significantly to facilitating the firm in meeting the diverse needs and goals of our clients.

In her capacity as Client Relationship Manager, Cara undertakes a multitude of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the firm and a seamless experience for clients. From assisting with administrative duties to coordinating client meetings and managing communications, Cara’s contributions are instrumental in maintaining efficiency and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Cara’s commitment to excellent client service and her ability to multitask make her an indispensable member of the team. Dominic heads CORA Capital Assurance, a specialized division focusing on Employee Benefits, Life Insurance, Long Term Care, and Disability Insurance for both businesses and individuals. With over three decades of experience in the insurance industry, Dominic has established himself as a seasoned expert in his field.

A graduate of Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business in 1986 with a degree in Finance, Dominic’s journey in the insurance sector began immediately after graduation. He holds Life, Health, and Annuity licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and numerous other states, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence. Dominic’s pursuit of continuous education is evident through his certificates in Business Insurance, Estate Planning, and Risk Management.

Dominic is recognized for his expertise in designing and implementing advanced life insurance cases, specializing in areas such as Buy-Sell agreements, Key Man insurance, and Estate Tax Planning. He is well known for his ability to simplify complex insurance matters and always prioritizes the needs of his clients.
